Climbing as a Therapeutic Tool for children and young adults with additional needs, Autistic people and adults with mental health difficulties.
Climbing Calm CIC is a social enterprise delivering Therapeutic Rock Climbing for Neurodiverse Young People and Therapeutic Rock Climbing for Adult Mental Health.
Our structured programmes and training have been created by a Clinical Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist.
Our core programme works with children and young people with additional needs and adults with mental health difficulties, focusing on equipping children with strategies to manage anxiety and develop social skills. We use the climbing wall as a stimulus to practice these skills in a controlled setting.
We provide training on becoming a Certified Therapeutic Climbing Instructor and an Accredited Therapeutic Climbing Centre. Our fully accredited Therapeutic Climbing Course is the first in the world to certify Therapeutic Climbing Instructors.
